As savvy shoppers, many of you know that vintage stores can provide hidden treasures for those who are willing to search for these blasts from the past. Not just any old stinky warehouse space full of mom’s polyester pants and dad’s soup-stained ties will do though. Here’s a list of some great spots across North America that offer up more than you bargain for.
Model Citizens in St John’s, Newfoundland features a mix of both vintage and new clothing hand selected by fashionista Chelsey MacNeil. They also carry fun men’s and women’s fashions by Sech Designs which is made of fabric salvaged from the scrap heap and given new life.
Preloved is Canada’s best known recycled fashion success story however the Toronto location suffered a setback when they were the victim of a fire last winter. Set to relaunch in new digs this week, they will be back and the Fall line is looking phenomenal. The Montreal location is still going strong with their spot on St. Laurent.
In Vancouver, the Deluxe Junk Company is the spot to find fashion inspiration from the past as this store boasts a large selection of finds from all eras.
